Haaland’s agent values the City star at $1 billion

Rafaela Pimenta, the representative of Erling Haaland, believes that the Norwegian striker will soon be worth one billion USD.

“Erling Haaland is worth one billion USD. I’m not guessing, I’m sure of that figure. Others may think I’m crazy and that no club will pay that much, but his age, his abilities, his potential, and his behavior make me value Haaland at one billion USD. No one knows what the future holds, but that day will come,” Pimenta said on February 20 on the Telefoot program of the TF1 channel.

Pimenta took over management of the player agency One after super-agent Mino Raiola passed away last year. One manages Haaland and many other star players such as Marco Verratti, Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and Gianluigi Donnarumma. In terms of transfer value, Haaland is the most valuable football player in Pimenta’s portfolio.

Last summer, the Man City transfer done deal list included Haaland. They only paid $63 million to sign him, which was $19 million less than the release clause in the striker’s contract with Dortmund. In exchange, the Etihad Stadium team turned the 22-year-old forward into the highest-paid player in the English Premier League, with a weekly salary of nearly a million dollars from wages and bonuses.

Haaland quickly proved his worth after moving to Man City, scoring 32 goals across all competitions, including 26 in the Premier League and five in the Champions League.

According to Pimenta, despite the global economic downturn, player values will continue to rise in the future. Therefore, the Brazilian businesswoman believes that Haaland could break the world transfer record if he leaves Man City. Currently, the world transfer record in football belongs to Neymar with the Neymar transfer fee of $263. PSG paid huge money to sign him from Barcelona in 2017.

Haaland was disappointed by missing some good chances and failing to score in Man City’s 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest last weekend. The Norwegian striker will have a chance to rediscover his scoring touch in the away match against RB Leipzig in the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16 on February 22.
