Tottenham has agreed to sell Harry Kane, but potential buyers must meet a number of “demanding” requirements set by the London-based club.
According to The Times, Tottenham is prepared to let striker Kane leave in the summer 2023 transfer window for a Harry Kane transfer fee of £100m. However, the London-based club will not accept payment in installments over the years, and buyers must make a single payment.
The source also revealed that Tottenham does not want to sell its star player to domestic rivals. In 2021, Tottenham turned down a £100m offer, including an initial payment of £75m, from Manchester City.
Manchester United, Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid are among the European giants closely monitoring Harry Kane’s future. However, spending £100m on a 30-year-old striker may make them think twice, despite their need for a world-class center-forward. Besides, £100m can make Harry Kane being one of the most valuable football players in 2023.
Harry Kane is still under contract with Tottenham until June 2024. According to reports, the striker will only enter into negotiations after the 2022/23 season. The Daily Mail reports that his priority is to continue playing in the Premier League to achieve his goal of breaking Alan Shearer’s record of 260 goals (he has currently scored 204).
2022/23 will mark Harry Kane’s 13th season with Tottenham, but he has been unable to help the London club end their trophy drought since 2008. Tottenham has been eliminated from the Champions League, League Cup, and FA Cup, and is facing the risk of falling out of the top four in the Premier League.
The 29-year-old striker’s contract will enter its final 12 months when the season ends, and his future has been a major topic of discussion in recent weeks.
