Cristian Romero transfer fee

Cristian Romero transfer fee: What do you know about Cristian Romero – a new face has just been bought by Tottenham before the loan expires? Let’s find out through the article below.

General introduction of Cristian Romero

Cristian Gabriel Romero (born 27 April 1998) is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a central defender for Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur, having previously played for Serie A club Atalanta and the national Argentina team.

Romero is a center-back who is at his best as a three-back, just like when he played for Atalanta. However, Romero can also play as a central defender in a back four – as he did for Argentina in the 2021 Copa America.

Romero is endowed with extreme speed and is rarely beaten for speed. He also frequently took the ball out of defense and joined the attack, making him a modern defender.

The Argentinian is also a threat in the opposition box, especially in the air from corners. He scored three goals for Atalanta last season and also provided four assists. And he also scored once for Argentina in a World Cup qualifier.

He defended brilliantly up front as he was exceptional in pressing to win the ball back quickly, while his pace meant he could recover if fouled in the first phase.

At last year’s transfer window in 2021, Tottenham recruited Cristian Romero from Atalanta. The Serie A representative confirmed that Romero arrived in the foggy country under the original loan contract, with the option to buy him outright which could make him the second most expensive deal in Spurs history.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, to be able to own the 23-year-old midfielder long-term, Tottenham is willing to break the safe for 55 million euros – an amount only less than what was spent in the purchase of Tanguy Ndombele from Olympique Lyonnais.

And when the 2021/22 season has not ended, Tottenham decided to detonate the above clause. Thus, Cristian Romero has escaped the “mercenary” life to officially become a Tottenham player.

Coach Antonio Conte personally confirmed the above information. The Italian strategist is delighted to announce: “We have decided to buy Cristian Romero permanently. This is a clause included in the loan agreement between the two teams. He is a fantastic player and is a perfect fit for the Premier League. .”

It is known that Tottenham will have to pay Atalanta £55 million for the Cristian Romero transfer fee. Of which, £5 million is a loan fee for the 2021/22 season, and the remaining £50 million is the purchase cost.

Immediately after moving to Tottenham, Cristian Romero proved his worth and won coach Nuno Santo’s trust and then Antonio Conte.
